Dr. Neff began analyzing and blending many different styles around 1989 into what has become Cheiron Karate. CK was later founded in 1995 by Master Cheiron at which time he assumed the role as Master Instructor (5th Dan). CK is primarily a blend of Okinowa Kenpo Kobudo Karate and Shotokan, but also has portions of Tae Kwon Do, Tang Soo Do, Aikido, Shorin Ryu, Ninjitsu, and many others blended in it. Cheiron Karate is a style of martial arts not just a school; just as modern styles like Shotokan and Tae Kwon Do have evolved from other styles, Cheiron Karate is the next evolution of many of these. Master Cherion has taught all across the United States, but his main school was in Northern Virginia where he taught thousands of students until 2002 when he moved to Upstate NY. Now he primarily teaches in small circles and local recreational facilities (YMCA, etc.) - though he hopes to re-open a full-time Dojo again in 2010. He enjoys martial arts as a 'way of life' rather than a sport, and teaches for spiritual development, perfection of character, and self-defense.
Master Cheiron is now Senior Master Instructor, Hanshi, 8th Dan.
